Another option that allows you to physically have the CDs so you can play them in your car - it seriously helps with long commutes and traffic - is an online audiobook rental service. It’s like Netflix (which is also awesome) but with audiobooks. Pay monthly and they mail you unlimited audiobooks. The turn around has been around 2 days usually and the customer service has been very kind when I accidentally lost one. They’ve had all the books I was looking for and you can request a book they don’t have and they’ll get it for you.

Online Audiobook Rentals & Downloads:
Check it out: http://www.simplyaudiobooks.com

I really like what you are talking about here. I began researching convergence in the early 1990's and then went back to school in 2001 to get a master's degree in Telecommunications with a production emphasis.
In my job for a large national organization I produce films and develop web content. I am defending my dissertation on edutainment and convergence and I developed a site after getting involved in the podcasting movement. I love your work and I plan on adding you to my site. I have not figured out how to add subscribe with bloglines buttons yet. I am a producer and director by trade but I know what looks good and visual placement. Check out my work in my archives in May and June and April. You will see my live research. I plan on bringing the video and audio podcasts on later. I think the UK, Canada, Australia and other countries are well ahead of the US distance learning. Hopefully, we can get the US to think beyond the elite and really start educating folks.

Dave puts into words a new 'shape' of libraries in the future. It is both exciting to imagine how libraries can re-emerge as less books and mortar and more as a space where conversation and community happen in a virtual world. Provocative-
